RIGID FILMS
The extrusion processes of the CARTONPACK GROUP plants boast a very high level of technological quality, capable of processing and producing rigid film structures suitable for any industrial application in the food sector.
The extrusion plants, dedicated to polyethylene (PET), process both virgin granules and flakes (raw material from recycling) to obtain rigid film rolls constituted by an ABA structure in which the “core” (B) reaches very high levels of post-consumer recovered material (up to 90%). This kind of responsible production is the result of a production approach that has guided the efficiency and eco-sustainability strategies of the CARTONPACK GROUP for over twenty years.
The Group has recently achieved the AENOR Certification for Post Consumer Recycled Plastic in compliance with the Reg. UNI-EN 15343:2008.
The extrusion plants dedicated to polypropylene complete the production picture, with a processing waste recovery process up to 100%. The plants are equipped with a decontamination system for the RPET flakes to allow the production of rigid films even with 100% recycled material.
In particular, CARTONPACK GROUP focuses on the regeneration of recycled PET (R-PET), which is a significant part of its raw material supply. Furthermore, the Group establishes partnerships with its customers to actively encourage the recovery and return of PET waste, promoting a virtuous cycle of circular economy. This practice highlights CARTONPACK GROUP’s commitment to sustainable solutions and keeping a responsible supply chain.
In addition, the company has extended its “Social Plastic” supply agreement with the Canadian company Plastic Bank Recycling Corp. to 2022. Under this agreement, Plastic Bank will supply R-PET to Cartonpack from the recycling of plastic bottles collected in developing countries by groups of people suffering financial hardship who find a source of livelihood in this activity.
